Welcome to the 2011/12 Adult Education website for Workington.

The Workington Adult Education Centre is based at the Workington Sixth Form Centre. We offer courses onsite at our Moorclose Campus and at St Joseph’s Secondary School in the town centre. We also use a number of outreach venues in our local community.

We have developed our programme with the aim of delivering learning opportunities to meet the needs of adults in our community. So whatever your ability, interests or skill requirements, we will help find the right course for you. This year, in addition to our well established GCSE courses, there are new higher level qualification courses on offer, including AS Level courses in Psychology, Sociology, Art & Design and English Literature. We have also developed a whole range of new leisure and vocational daytime and evening courses and a number of Saturday workshops.

Whichever course you choose, you will receive a warm welcome, professional tuition and all the support and advice you need at the Workington Adult Education Centre.

In addition, we are delighted to let you know that Cumbria Adult Education, in conjunction with the Skills Funding Agency, has made the decision to keep tuition fees at the 2010/11 rate for the whole of the 2011/12 academic year.
